Urban
planning and issues related to resource allocation is
common to many clients and owners. Problem solving represents
a synthesis of intensive interviews, discussions, observation
and research into the unique requirements of each programmatic
element, as well as an awareness of the realities of
development in a particular geographic area. Meetings
with the community become an important part of the necessary
research to develop a cohesive plan for a particular
area. We draw upon a network of engineers, environmental
experts and market consultants to provide specialized
services as they are required.
Of particular interest
is our emphasis and experience in feasibility planning.
As a regular practice, Gruzen Samton leads an interdisciplinary
team focused on problem definition and solution. Virtually
all of our projects begin with the feasibility phase.
These include major development projects, urban design
studies and land use studies as well as individual buildings.
Gruzen Samton is recognized
as a national leader in campus master planning, facilities
programming and design. We bring a team planning approach
to our campus work whereby we seek to address issues
of access, circulation, land use, and open space as
rigorously as we program academic and support buildings.
We often lead a multi-disciplinary team of professionals
assembled to meet the unique needs of each campus. We
see planning as critically important to the long-range
functioning of each campus.
